Joao Marques de Almeida London

Joao has been an adviser to Hakluyt on EU affairs and other issues since 2013.

He previously spent six years as a political adviser to Jose Manuel Barroso, the former president of the European Commission, focusing on a wide range of foreign policy issues. Before that, he worked for the Portuguese defence ministry.

Joao has a PhD from the London School of Economics.
