Robin joined Hakluyt in 2022 as a senior adviser on geopolitics and international affairs.

Before Hakluyt, he was director and chief executive of Chatham House for fifteen years. He was previously executive vice president of the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS). 

Robin’s commentary and analysis have been published in a range of journals and newspapers, including Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The Financial Times and The Washington Post. He is also co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Geopolitics.
