Harvard Business School starts teaching new case study on Hakluyt

Leaders from Hakluyt, including Thomas Ellis, managing partner, and Holly Morrow, deputy managing partner, joined classes at Harvard Business School last week, at which a new case study on the firm was taught to MBA students.

The case study, which was written by Professor Joseph B. Fuller, professor of management practice in general management and entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School, and Lena Duchene, research associate, focuses on the firm’s development over its 30-year history, its role today as a truster adviser to business leaders around the world, and options for future growth and development.

During their visit to Harvard Business School, Tom and Holly, alongside Hakluyt’s head of Americas, Keith Lieberthal, and chief operating officer, Simon King, participated in discussions with students and answered questions.

Professor Fuller said: “We were grateful to be able to collaborate with members of the Hakluyt team on this case study, and it was a pleasure to spend time with Tom, Holly, Keith and Simon again on their visit to Harvard Business School. As a strategic advisory firm whose work is based solely on human relationships and insights, Hakluyt’s proposition is unique – and is, in my opinion, likely to become increasingly valuable as the world is transformed by artificial intelligence. Hakluyt offers an intriguing story of a differentiated competitor, growing in a mature industry.”

Thomas Ellis commented: “It was a great honour for everyone at Hakluyt to partner with Joe Fuller and others at Harvard Business School on this case study. Harvard Business School is one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the world, and it has helped shape the thinking of generations of business leaders. The discussions we had with the professors and students we met on our visit were stimulating and enlightening, and I look forward to strengthening Hakluyt’s relationship with Harvard Business School over the coming years.”

Holly Morrow added: “I am very proud that Hakluyt has worked with Harvard Business School on this case study, and I greatly enjoyed my time with the students and professors there. The quality of the discussions was excellent, and I am sure we will all learn much from each other as we continue this collaboration.”
