Aiesha Zafar Toronto

Aiesha joined Hakluyt in 2026.

Prior to Hakluyt, she spent 24 years in Canadian national security, intelligence and law enforcement, most recently as an assistant deputy minister. As a specialist in counter-terrorism, border security and immigration, she also led on the creation of Canada’s trade fraud and trade-based money laundering centre of expertise.

Aiesha holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, a master’s degree in war studies, and is a published author.
